Since 1976, the Museum & Archives has amassed an imposing collection of artifacts, books, textiles, photographs, and historic documents related to Fayette County’s history and families. Our facility expansion in 2004 gave us room to continue collecting for many years to come. Each item is kept in secure climate-controlled storerooms. Additionally, all photographs, documents, scrapbooks, and family history books are kept in on-site vaults with fire-suppression systems.

The Museum and Archives has an online catalog, separate from the library, that can be accessed anywhere through the internet.

Please contact the Museum and Archives staff at about our accessioning policy if you would like to donate Fayette County-related items.
