Budget Information

The fiscal year of the City shall begin on October 1 and end on September 30. On or before August 30 of each year, the City Manager shall submit a proposed budget for Council review and approval.

There will be a Public Hearing on Tax Increase on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 6:10 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 155 E. Colorado Street. 

A tax rate of .2093 per $100 valuation has been proposed by the governing body of City of La Grange which is the current tax rate. 

PROPOSED TAX RATE: $0.2093 per $100
NO-NEW REVENUE TAX RATE: $0.2004 per $100
VOTER-APPROVAL TAX RATE: $0.2095 per $100

The no-new-revenue tax rate is the tax rate for the 2020 tax year that will raise the same amount of property tax revenue for City of La Grange from the same properties in both the 2019 tax year and the 2020 tax year.

The voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate that City of La Grange may adopt without holding an election to seek voter approval of the rate.
